Zumi Vance LMP, ‍ The Bodyworker

I’m a licensed massage therapist, healer and mother who’s practiced in Los Angeles for over 18 years, developing two bodywork methods in The Sterkenberg Effect and The Tech Neck Method. On my journey, I’ve helped thousands of clients reclaim their body from tension and pain. From slipped disks, back pain, TMJ discomfort and technology induced bodily fatigue, I’ve un-knotted it all. My methods are goal based; you don’t just receive massage; you to leave my office a lighter you, your tension left on my table.

My Methods

I believe everyone deserves to feel comfortable in their own body, thats why I’ve developed two bodywork methods to which assess and correct tension and pain in the body: The Sterkenberg Effect & The Tech Neck Method.

When I began working as a bodywork therapist over 18 years ago, I sought out to develop world class physical holistic solutions for relieving tension and pain. I mentored under renowned bodywork therapist Bob Harris, who taught me his deep-tissue methods originating from the Kung-Fu energy system. The Sterkenberg Effect is my method for releasing tension in the body. With a pre-massage talk consultation, and a table evaluation, I assess the optimal bodywork for your individual needs, assessing and addressing your physiology on an individual basis. Your massage should be as specific and unique as you are.

As technology became more apparent in our daily lives over the last few decades, it became clear to me how important it was to address neck and TMJ pain from the digital lifestyle; the dreaded Tech Neck. Thus, over the past six years, I developed and refined The Tech Neck Method. I tackle tech-induced bodily discomfort by addressing the tension in areas directly, and indirectly affected by tech-neck posture through intra-oral jaw release. From the hip posterior chain, to your back, shoulders, up to your jaw; The Tech-Neck Method is the industry leading method in massage for addressing tech induced pain.
